Hypothyroidism: Foods to Avoid

• Limit your intake of junk food, fat, fried meals, and carbohydrates

• Limit salt up to 2.3g/day and replace tablet salt with Rock salt (saindhav lavana)

• Avoid soy and soy products; they include chemicals that can cause goitre. Because soy contains oestrogen, men should only eat small amounts of it.

• Maintain balanced amounts of oestrogen in women, which could lead to low thyroid hormone levels.

Hypothyroidism: Foods to eat

• Take the Omega 3 fatty acids in fish oil, which aid in thyroid hormone synthesis.

• For metabolising fat, sesame (till) oil should be used in cooking, except for those with pitta problems or in hot climates.

• Selenium plays an important role in the thyroid as it does the following things
